JOEY IS 2!!

Joey turned 2 on August 20th. He is such a good boy. Here are some things you should know about our sweet boy Joey.
*He screams in a pitch that could break glass.
* He LOVES shoes. I mean really loves shoes. He wants to wear them all them all the time.
*He is in the 10-20% for height and weight.
*He likes to strip. He can take all his clothes and diaper off in no time.
* He loves his "bla bla" ( his binky)
* LOVES LOVES LOVES CARS. He would play with them 24/7. His favorite birthday gift? A $2 car ramp toy from the thrift store.
This is our first family picture after Joey was born.

HE loves his sister.

HE really loves his "Papa"

He sleeps like daddy.

He loves his Piper. Yesterday when she was getting in Bema's car he cried and begged for Piper.

Finally, Joey is a stud. He is just so precious. HE is a wonderful little boy and I'm so happy to be his Momma.

In a Nut Shell

We celebrated Leo's 31st Birthday at the end of June. WE LOVE YOU!!

We went to the 4th of July Parade in Edmond. Elijah was up for the week, and we met the Adams family there. Capri and Piper wore the cutest little tutu's that Ashlyn helped me make. ( I just did Capri's)

On July 8th, we finally closed on our house and moved in the next day with tons of help. My sister came up from Texas to help watch the kids. My brother came too and mostly helped my mom with putting her new shelves together for food storage. My awesome visiting teachers even brought us meals for two days.
Cousin Margaret was amazing. She brought 7 pizzas for everyone. For our family as well as those who helped us to move. She also brought watermelon (which Joey devoured) and cookies. It was wonderful.
Thank you Fro, Phil, Elijah, Maleck, Eralee, Izzie, Peter, Paul, Tim, John, Kai, Mom, Pops, Lisa, Beth, Peter B., Michele, Danielle, and whoever else I may have forgotten. Whew!

Things my kids say

Capri has only been really talking for about 6 months. I even had her evaluated because I felt that she should be talking more. They said she was fine and that I shouldn't worry. I still love listening to her and being amazed at some of the words she knows.
This morning Grandpa said, "Good Morning Capri." Her response, "Quack!"
Still not sure if she was immitating a duck or if she was calling him a quack. I'll go with the former.
Weirdo cutie patootie.

Joey can now put 3 words together. Although its not real clear, he says, "Thank you Momma." and "I love you."

We're going to be Home Owners!!

Leo and I found a house! We are so stinkin excited! When we were talking about looking for a house a while back, we wanted it to be in OKC 1st ward. While we were in the Spanish Branch, for a long time Capri was the only nursery aged kid. More than half the time her teacher wasn't there and we sent her to church with Bema in the Village Ward. In February when Joey became old enough for nursery we decided that it was time to leave the Spanish Branch so we could all be together as a family for church. Our home ward was Village Ward so we transferred. We love it! We love the members and our classes and teachers. The ward is full of young families.  I decided that I would really love to have our home be in Village Ward. Well, what do you know, the house on the corner of my parents street went up for sale. I looked at it first, loved it. I talked Leo into looking at it and he did too! We put in an offer 2 weeks ago and they accepted. The closing day is July 8th and we can hardly wait. The house is set up almost exactly like my parents house. The bathroom tile is original and is so old but kept well and I love it. There is also a built in little corne bench with the original table, I love this too!
Keeping our fingers crossed and prayers said that all goes well.

Randomness

They were just being cute.

Memorial Day Fun at the Zoo

Capri and Piper

Joey loved petting the goats. Capri, not so much.

This was toward the end, right before the meltdowns started.

On Memorial Day this year we went to the Oklahoma City Zoo with our awesome friend Ashlyn and Piper. It was so much fun! It wasa great day and we got there before it got too busy.

Fathers Day Suprise no longer a surprise

I had my amazing friend Felisha Coltrin take these photos for a Fathers Day surprise. I knew it was gonna be hard for me not to tell him before the FD arrived, but I was sad to find out that I had left the file open on the computer and Leo saw them today. Now to figure out a new gift. Ugh. All well, now you get to see the fantastic pictures sooner!
Thank you Felisha for such a steal of a deal!!
(For those of you out there wanting your own session she's booking. She's amazing, and super reasonably priced.  )

She doesn't look like a toddler, but like a little girl. She's growing up too fast.

Joey had just seen some dogs and was shouting, "Puppy Puppy!"

Also a big thanks to Ashlyn Adams who made Capri's adorable tutu!!

Our newest Ginn family member, meet Isabela Claire Ginn.

It's kind of a fairy tale really. Philip was working as a police officer when a call brought him to meet the lovely Madeline. Izzie loved Philip. She started calling him, "Daddy" almost immediately. Almost a year later, Philip was blessed with a loving wife and a new step daughter.
Here the three of them are a year ago.

Today, the adoption of the sweet and adorable Isabela Claire was finalized. Philip is now legally her Daddy and Izzie is legally his daughter. We are so blessed to have Madeline and Izzie in our lives. We love them so much and are so thankful for the example and influence of Madeline.
This little squirt has been my niece since last May, but now she is an offical Ginn.
We love you Izzie!!

Will post family pictures soon.

Pobrecito's!! (don't mock my spelling)

Sunday Joey didn't want anything to do with Nursery. He cried and cried, my mom who is the Nursery leader finally had to come get me. He was asleep in just a few minutes of my holding him and I figured that he was just tired. After holding him for a few minutes longer, I noticed that he had a fever. His little face, hands, and back were just burning up. I got Leo and Capri and we went home. I gave Joey some tylenol and he went down for a 4 hour nap.
When Joey and I were napping, Capri decided to come down with a fever as well. She puked three times Sunday. They took turns crying and being miserable, sometimes at the same time. My heart breaks when my kids are sick. I just hate it.
Both had their fevers spike at 102.7 degrees. Yesterday we called our friend Peter to come and assist in giving Joey a blessing. It probably sounds silly to some, but I get so emotional when the babies are sick. I cry with them, and pray pray pray. Capri was on the mend, but poor Joey was simply miserable.
Today they finally woke up without fevers. YEA! Just a 48 hour bug. They had both gone to bed with slight fevers but were wonderful today.
Almost...
Leo put the kids in the little tent thingy that attaches to the back of his bike to take them for a ride. I had just pulled up to the house from work when they were about to leave. Joey started screaming and Leo saw it. A wasp had stung poor baby Joey's thumb. Leo tried to suck Joey's thumb, to get whatever it is out. Why don't wasps die after stinging something?!  I just wanted to hold him and take care of him. I called my bestie Lisa (a simply wonderful RN) and asked what to do. Leo wanted me to call the pediatricion too. Lisa was a great comfort and told me what to do.
Looking forward to a very non-eventful day.
Drama much? No thank you! I'm done!

Potty Training Helpers

After I got dressed, I came out of my room and it was very quiet. (except of course for Tangled playing in the living room.)  I went to check on the kids in Capri's room and as I'm walking closer, I hear Capri and Piper both saying, "Sit down Joey. Sit down." Joey was naked waist down, (a very common occurance) sitting on the potty chair. Capri and Joey were potty training him. Sooo stinking cute!

Disclaimer: Capri's bed is never made until right before bed. Her hair hadn't been fixed yet nor had she been dressed for the day. Also, that tub is making its way to storage today. Full of clothes my babies have grown out of.

Capri and her BFF Piper

We babysit this little cutie Piper Monday-Friday. She is a month younger than Capri and they love each other. Capri will tell Piper, "I love you so much!"
This is a hug that happens most everyday. They are so cute with each other. Taking turns being the mother hen. "Oh its ok Capri." and "Are you ok Piper?" Of course they are 2 and don't always get along.

Tonight I was reading this book by Greg Olsen and Wendy & Michael Nelsen. Its an adorable board book. Each page is a painting of Olsens. It was inspired by the song "I Am a Child of God."

When we got to this page, Capri excitedly pointed out "Piper and Capri." Melted my heart. Of course Piper and Capri are obviously much more beautiful. But these little girls in the picture resemble Capri and Piper. I love that Capri noticed the similarities. I love that she has a best friend.
