Our newest Ginn family member, meet Isabela Claire Ginn.

It's kind of a fairy tale really. Philip was working as a police officer when a call brought him to meet the lovely Madeline. Izzie loved Philip. She started calling him, "Daddy" almost immediately. Almost a year later, Philip was blessed with a loving wife and a new step daughter.
Here the three of them are a year ago.

Today, the adoption of the sweet and adorable Isabela Claire was finalized. Philip is now legally her Daddy and Izzie is legally his daughter. We are so blessed to have Madeline and Izzie in our lives. We love them so much and are so thankful for the example and influence of Madeline.
This little squirt has been my niece since last May, but now she is an offical Ginn.
We love you Izzie!!

Will post family pictures soon.

Pobrecito's!! (don't mock my spelling)

Sunday Joey didn't want anything to do with Nursery. He cried and cried, my mom who is the Nursery leader finally had to come get me. He was asleep in just a few minutes of my holding him and I figured that he was just tired. After holding him for a few minutes longer, I noticed that he had a fever. His little face, hands, and back were just burning up. I got Leo and Capri and we went home. I gave Joey some tylenol and he went down for a 4 hour nap.
When Joey and I were napping, Capri decided to come down with a fever as well. She puked three times Sunday. They took turns crying and being miserable, sometimes at the same time. My heart breaks when my kids are sick. I just hate it.
Both had their fevers spike at 102.7 degrees. Yesterday we called our friend Peter to come and assist in giving Joey a blessing. It probably sounds silly to some, but I get so emotional when the babies are sick. I cry with them, and pray pray pray. Capri was on the mend, but poor Joey was simply miserable.
Today they finally woke up without fevers. YEA! Just a 48 hour bug. They had both gone to bed with slight fevers but were wonderful today.
Almost...
Leo put the kids in the little tent thingy that attaches to the back of his bike to take them for a ride. I had just pulled up to the house from work when they were about to leave. Joey started screaming and Leo saw it. A wasp had stung poor baby Joey's thumb. Leo tried to suck Joey's thumb, to get whatever it is out. Why don't wasps die after stinging something?!  I just wanted to hold him and take care of him. I called my bestie Lisa (a simply wonderful RN) and asked what to do. Leo wanted me to call the pediatricion too. Lisa was a great comfort and told me what to do.
Looking forward to a very non-eventful day.
Drama much? No thank you! I'm done!

Potty Training Helpers

After I got dressed, I came out of my room and it was very quiet. (except of course for Tangled playing in the living room.)  I went to check on the kids in Capri's room and as I'm walking closer, I hear Capri and Piper both saying, "Sit down Joey. Sit down." Joey was naked waist down, (a very common occurance) sitting on the potty chair. Capri and Joey were potty training him. Sooo stinking cute!

Disclaimer: Capri's bed is never made until right before bed. Her hair hadn't been fixed yet nor had she been dressed for the day. Also, that tub is making its way to storage today. Full of clothes my babies have grown out of.

Capri and her BFF Piper

We babysit this little cutie Piper Monday-Friday. She is a month younger than Capri and they love each other. Capri will tell Piper, "I love you so much!"
This is a hug that happens most everyday. They are so cute with each other. Taking turns being the mother hen. "Oh its ok Capri." and "Are you ok Piper?" Of course they are 2 and don't always get along.

Tonight I was reading this book by Greg Olsen and Wendy & Michael Nelsen. Its an adorable board book. Each page is a painting of Olsens. It was inspired by the song "I Am a Child of God."

When we got to this page, Capri excitedly pointed out "Piper and Capri." Melted my heart. Of course Piper and Capri are obviously much more beautiful. But these little girls in the picture resemble Capri and Piper. I love that Capri noticed the similarities. I love that she has a best friend.

Just a few pictures from the last few days

Joey decided to empty the salt onto the floor
 Laughing together
                                                                       Silly face!
She does this all the time.
                                                                           LOVE!

Rapunzel Rapunzel!!

My kids LOVE Tangled. I mean really love it. Capri runs up to everyone, buts her hands together, and begs. "Rapunzel!! Rapunzel!! Please! Please!" We watch it at least twice a day, sometimes more. They will watch it for at least 30-40 minutes before getting up to play for a few minutes, then back again. Capri has started to sing a few of the songs. Its such a cute movie, I hope disney continues making movies like this. It feels like its been many years since a movie like this was released.
After the movie is over there is an upbeat song that plays while the credits are rolling. They love to get up and dance to this. They shake their little bitty booties, and bob their heads. So much fun!

Flexible Much?

Capri has always been flexible. She'll be standing and she'll just put her leg up in the air. I finally got a picture. She is just so stinkin precious! I love this little angel. Of course when I call her an angel this is what she says to me. "Mommy, I'm not an angel. I'm Capri all by myself!"
I need to find a VERY inexpensive place where I can put her in classes for ballet and/or gymnastics. If OCU is cheap enough, that's where she'll go in the fall. Suggetions?

"Goodnight Babe!"

Capri and Joey were sitting infront of the tv tonight eating popcorn. Capri calls it "Pop Pop." Leo came in to give kisses and to say goodnight. After he kissed me, I said, "Goodnight Babe." Capri then said, "Goodnight Babe!" I LOVE my children! Capri is wearing a bib because she wanted to. They haven't worn bibs in over a year.

My beautiful children

I am filled with love for my amazing children. Joey is so full of energy and is the silliest kid. He loves to run around room to room. He loves to cuddle, especially when he's sleepy, he loves to have his cheeks and neck kissed. He loves to sit on grandpa's lap and eat ice cream. He can do sumersaults. (sp?) He can climb into his highchair alone. Luckily, he hasn't climbed out of his babybed yet. He climbs onto the arm of the couch several times a day just to jump onto the cushions. He gives the best hugs. Capri is the sweetest thing! She loves to play outside. She loves the park and had been climbing the climbing wall there for several months. She puts her toys in timeout, and has tried to put me there as well. She is super affectionate with her baby brother and often hugs and kisses him when he cries. She wakes up happy every morning with a , "Good morning Mommy! I love you so much!" She lets me fix her hair every day and is just now starting to assert herself with choosing her outfits. She is a wonderful friend to me and she just gets more and more amazing with each passing day. I am so incredibly blessed.

Potty Training

Capri is now more than 2 1/2 years old. It's time for potty training. We have had her use the potty a few times over the last few months, but we weren't good about it. We weren't persistant. A friend, Ashlyn, potty trained her daughter in 3 days using the 3 day method. Her daughter is a month younger than Capri. This was also a few months ago. I began to feel like a slacker mom. So I jumped on the potty training wagon and let Capri pick out her own undies. We started traing hardcore 3 days ago. All morning Friday and Saturday Capri wet herself all over the place. The evenings were successful. She is still having issues going #2 in the potty. Today, after not wetting on herself at all in almost 48 hours (this includes nap time and at night) she just did it again. Ugh! However, we are very optimistic and and reward her with 3 M&M's every time she is successful. Yea Capri!!

New Blog!

My Facebook page has become a place where I post most all things about Capri and Joey. I have done it for my family in Peru so that I can share with them all the happening of our little family. Especially the kids. Looking over my Facebook page, I realized that I'm pretty sure that most people don't care to read about their potty training ventures or our conversations. What happened to the blog that I used to have? I haven't posted anything in over two years. Yeah, two years! I haven't deleted it, just not gonna use it again. I was so behind and had no hope really of catching up. Hope you enjoy!
